The hot-pressing technique, also known as the lost-wax technique, is a trusted, old method that is great for making restorations with an amazing fit at the edges and fine, natural details. Our steps are:

• Diagnostic Wax-Up: An exact wax model of the veneer is made, either by hand or with a digital design and 3D printing.
• Investment and Burnout: The wax model is placed in a special heat-resistant material, which is then heated up to melt the wax away, leaving an empty mold.
• Pressing: Ready-made lithium disilicate blocks are melted down and pressed into the empty mold with high pressure using special pressing machines. This controlled process makes sure the final piece has a solid, even structure with very few tiny holes.
• Divesting and Finishing: After it cools, the restoration is carefully taken out of the material, and any extra pieces are removed. The veneer then gets careful shaping, smoothing, and polishing.
• Staining and Glazing: Special coloring and detailing, both inside and out, are added to create lifelike details. A final heating with a glaze makes the surface smooth and shiny.

• Excellent Fit at the Edges: The hot-pressing process creates a very precise fit, which is very important for them to last a long time and for stopping tiny leaks.

Our modern CAD/CAM milling process is at the leading edge of digital dentistry, offering amazing accuracy, speed, and consistency. The steps are:

• Digital Impression/Scanning: Clear digital scans from inside the mouth or scans of regular impressions are taken to create an exact 3D digital model of the patient’s teeth.
• CAD Design: Our talented team uses modern CAD software to digitally design the veneer, to make sure the shape, use, and look are perfect. This includes checking the bite on the computer and planning the smile design.
• CAM Milling: The digital design is then sent to our very accurate, multi-axis CAM milling machines. These machines carve the veneer from lithium disilicate blocks before they are fully hardened (often in a softer “blue” state, around 130 MPa).
• Crystallization Firing: After being carved, the “blue” veneer is heated in a special oven. This process changes the material to make it strong and beautiful, reaching a strength of about 360 MPa.
• Finishing and Glazing: The hardened veneer is then carefully shaped, polished, and detailed with stains and glazes to get the desired beautiful look.
