Istar denture laboratory

Trusted Denture Lab: 5 Product Lines Built for Dentists, Clinics, and Partner Labs

Send us the Rx. We quote fast, make the denture in our own facility, and ship it back under your brand or ours. No middleman, no sub-contracting, no surprises on the invoice — just a denture laboratory that treats your Rx the way you'd handle it in-house.

If you've been quietly tired of chasing lab status, re-quoting the same case twice, or eating remake costs that weren't your fault, read on — we spell out what you get and what you pay for.

Five product lines on our denture lab floor

Five service lines cover the vast majority of what a dentist or clinic will prescribe. All five run through the same intake, the same quality bench, and the same denture laboratory coordinator — so one Rx template works across the lot.

Partial Dentures

Cast or SLM-printed cobalt-chrome frameworks for load-bearing cases, plus nylon-based thermoplastic partials (Valplast, TCS, ThermoDent, DuraFlex, or acetal) for metal-allergic patients and deep-undercut esthetics.

Complete Dentures

Full-arch complete dentures built on heat-cured, injection-molded, or milled PMMA bases with composite, acrylic, or porcelain teeth — wax try-in included unless you waive it, and digital complete dentures ship 1–2 working days faster than the conventional path on clean scans.

1440 × 960Metal Dentures · Recommended upload size · px

Metal Dentures

Full cast cobalt-chromium metal dentures and metal-reinforced bases for bruxers, long-span partials under high occlusal load, and patients who have fractured acrylic complete dentures more than once. The same casting floor handles our cobalt-chrome crown and bridge services, so clearance, occlusal scheme, and reinforcement geometry get looked at by technicians who do this every day.

1440 × 960Custom Dental Guards · Recommended upload size · px

Custom Dental Guards

Night guards (hard acrylic, dual-laminate, soft), sports mouth guards (single, dual, or triple laminate), bleaching trays, and anti-snoring appliances — all on the same scanning intake and the same quality bench as denture work. Full material options and laminate thicknesses are on our custom dental guard product page.

Temporary Dentures

Three scenarios covered on short lead times: immediate dentures seated the day of extraction, interim PMMA complete dentures during an All-on-X or soft-tissue healing phase, and flipper partials for front-tooth esthetics while a definitive restoration is being planned. All three carry a 3–6 month hard-reline expectation once ridge remodeling settles, quoted at the time rather than up front.

Pricing you can quote the patient from

Per unit on the Rx — not per visit, not per adjustment. Every quote covers the digital design and preview, model work, final processing, polish, QC, invoice, and HS code on the shipping label. It doesn't cover express courier upgrades, Locator housings or bar attachments ordered on your behalf, or chairside remount visits.

What moves the base price depends on how the piece is built, and the add-ons stack from there — product line by product line.

Repairs, relines, and add-a-tooth jobs sit outside the five product-line pricing structure. They start at a flat minimum per case; multiple fractures, broken clasp replacements, and soft-reline material upgrades each adjust from there.

Rush handling is quoted case by case against the production queue at the moment your Rx hits the floor. If there's a surcharge, you see it before you commit — not after.

Delivery you can plan around

A digital complete denture with clean scans ships in roughly 4–5 working days. A conventional complete that goes through a wax try-in and one revision lands at 8–12 working days. Repairs and relines head back out in 2–4 once the broken piece arrives, and a rushed complete can run as tight as 5–6 working days when the records come in clean and you waive the try-in in favor of a chairside adjustment.

Weekends in China, Chinese public holidays, and time a case sits waiting on your approval don't count toward lab time. International transit from Shenzhen runs 3–7 working days by DHL, FedEx, or UPS depending on the destination. If anything unexpected shows up mid-case — an incomplete scan, bite rims cracked in transit, a platform mismatch on an overdenture — your coordinator reaches you within one working hour, and the clock pauses until the fix is back with us.

Quality control, in actions you can verify chairside

The QC team runs 25 inspectors; full-arch and complex partial cases need two signatures (fabricating technician plus inspector) before the box closes. Every denture gets checked against five concrete items, written in a form you can match against the chairside delivery.

Occlusion is verified on the articulator — centric, protrusive, lateral all seated. Midline, overbite, overjet are matched to what you wrote on the Rx. Teeth are shade-compared to the approved try-in or photo under lab-standard light; position matches the design file, not the technician's preference. Base thickness is measured with calipers at the posterior palatal area, labial flange, and borders — over- or under-extension against the approved design means a reject, and porosity past the acceptance limit means remake, not polish-through.

Clasps and framework have to seat on the master cast under their own weight, inspected under magnification; if it needs finger pressure to seat, it doesn't ship. Finish must be smooth and continuously polished, with no wheel contact at the border or tissue-fitting surface. The final reseat on the model is the last check before packaging.

Impressions arrive, get surface-disinfected, then poured — the cross-contamination chain stays intact from your operatory to our QC bench. CDC Guidelines for Infection Control in Dental Health-Care Settings and OSHA 1910.1030 are the clinical references we align with.

If something doesn't fit

A denture doesn't seat the first time for one of three reasons, and each one gets a different answer on who pays and how fast you get the replacement.

The first bucket is an input issue — the impression missed a functional border, the bite didn't capture CR, the Rx had a blank field, or the shade photo was lit under the wrong light. These remake as a new case, because the work rebuilds from re-captured records rather than the same records.

The second is our side: a framework that won't seat passively, a base warped by polymerization, teeth set outside the approved design, or a QC item that slipped through. On confirmed lab-side causes there's no additional lab charge; we cover the outbound remake freight, and the clinic covers return shipping of the original piece plus any diagnostic photos we need to confirm what happened.

The third is a material limit — the design was correct for what you prescribed, but the physical limits of the material show up in service. A flexible partial distorting under heavy occlusal load after six months is the usual example. These go through a case-review conversation and get quoted individually; we don't bill them as "remake" in the warranty sense.

Report fit or esthetic issues within 14 working days of the clinic's delivery receipt. Material defects within 90 days. After that, the case re-enters the regular quote queue.

The scope of lab-vs-clinician responsibility we work under follows the American College of Prosthodontists' position on the dentist–laboratory relationship — fit calls stay with the clinician, fabrication calls stay with us, and the handshake sits in writing.

Starting a case with this denture laboratory

Three ways in, and all three begin with the same thing: a case with a usable Rx.

The simplest start is to send one case. There's no account setup and no minimum. One complete or partial denture with a full Rx gets you a quote and a projected ship date within 24 hours of receipt. If it goes well, keep sending.

For labs or group practices doing regular volume with the denture lab, opening an account gets you a named case coordinator who handles routing. We'll align on shipment consolidation (weekly or per-case), Rx conventions, and shade/photo standards once — so repeat work doesn't bounce back and forth. Monthly case value around USD 500 or more makes the account economics work for both sides.

Clinics and lab partners can also visit the floor — tour the removable department, CAD design area, and QC bench on-site in Shenzhen or Huizhou. Half a day if you're in person, or a video walkthrough that runs 30–40 minutes with live Q\&A.

FAQ

How do I get a quote for a case I'm not sure about yet?

Send photos of the diagnostic casts or the scan files with a short note on what you're planning. We'll come back with a quote line and a two-sentence read on whether the case is a good fit for the design you have in mind, or whether a different route would hold up longer.

Can we work with you from outside the US — and what's shipping like?

Yes. Istar ships regularly to the US, UK, Germany, the Netherlands, France, Belgium, Austria, Luxembourg, Switzerland, and other European markets. International transit from Shenzhen is 3–7 working days by DHL, FedEx, or UPS; routing and Incoterm are set on the Rx so there are no customs surprises on your end.

Our hygienist spotted calculus staining on a removable denture at a recall. Would you redo the shade work only?

Yes, as a tooth-level refresh rather than a full remake. We soak-clean the base, lift surface stains, and re-polish, then shade-correct the affected tooth or teeth against a fresh photo. It's one of the most common follow-up jobs on removable dentures from recall visits — priced like a repair, not a remake, and most come back in 3–5 working days.

What stops the clock in your "working days" count?

Shenzhen weekends, Chinese public holidays, and time a case sits waiting for your approval on a try-in, a framework preview, or a shade re-shoot. Nothing else. We publish the Chinese holiday calendar at account setup so the long dates (Chinese New Year, National Day) don't blindside your schedule.

Who pays return freight if a remake is on your side?

We do, on confirmed lab-side causes. The clinic covers return of the original piece and any inbound diagnostic photos we need to confirm what happened. That split is written into the account agreement so neither side is guessing after the fact.

How do you handle a shade mismatch we can't tell is lighting or denture laboratory error?

Shoot three photos chairside under daylight at the window, with the shade tab held flat against the labial of the denture tooth. Send all three. In 80% of these calls, the mismatch resolves to a lighting issue and no case moves. In the other 20%, we remake the affected teeth under the lab-side terms.

We've got a snowbird patient flying out next week. Can you compress a complete-denture timeline?

Yes, if the records come in clean. A rushed complete runs 5–6 working days end-to-end when the scan is on-point, the bite is captured on the first visit, and you waive the wax try-in in favor of a chairside adjustment. We'll flag it as a priority case on intake and give you a day-by-day schedule so the travel date doesn't become the deadline.

Do you handle both digital and physical workflows under one account?

Yes, in the same case if that's what the clinical plan needs. Scan the ridges, send a physical bite rim for CR — fine. Impression on one arch, scan on the other — fine. One Rx covers it.

What happens to our case files after shipment?

Design files and production records are kept three months by default so a quick repeat or follow-up remake can mill from the original file. If your account resells the work and you want longer retention, we extend to 12 or 24 months on written request at setup.

Does the lab run under any specific regulatory framework for US shipments?

Yes — US-destined cases are made under the material-level 510(k) frame for the denture base resin we use. FDA 510(k) K231578 and K241071 are examples of base-resin clearances for the material families on our shelf. EU shipments go out under the MDR custom-device route. Declarations of conformity for custom devices are available to accounts on request.

What's the fastest way to find out if we're a good denture lab fit for the practice?

A single trial case. We'll quote it, make it, ship it, and you'll know in one case cycle whether the fit, the finish, and the way we communicate under pressure are what you want on your next 50.

Ready to send one? The inquiry form routes straight to the removable team's coordinator. Attach the scan or shoot a message with the case summary — we'll come back the same working day with a quote line, a projected ship date, and the Rx template that matches the case type.
